SLSO ChampsThe Annual SLSO Championships to be held at Warrington Beach.St Clair has a proud tradition having won the overall title for the last twenty three consecutive years. Last season St Clair collected the overall titles in the Open Men, Open Women, Under 19 Women and Under 16 Women. James Coombes, Carla Laughton, Hannah Cullen and Sophie Robb were also awarded the individual titles in those age groups. With a far larger team that is progressing well under the club coaching structure expect to see more titles heading to the Esplande this season. |
SLSO Junior ChampsThis coming weekend, St Clair's junior athletes will contest the annual Surf Lifesaving Otago Junior Surf Champs.St Clair will be aiming for further success in this event which they have managed to claim the overall trophy as top club for the last 5 years in succession. On the back of a strong season for our junior members, several of whom will be using the event as build up to their major event of the season New Zealand Ocean Athletes in Mount Manganui from Thursday 25 February through to Sunday 28 February. Results from the junior champs will be posted here once they are available. |
New Zealand Ocean AthletesFor the first time in several years St Clair SLSC will be sending a team of our most promising juniors to the national Ocean Athletes competition being held at Mount Manganui on the 25th, 26th, 27th and 28th of February.An exciting event which draws together 700 of the best junior athletes from the surf movement in the country. The full travelling team is: Antony Mason (Coach/Manager) Neil Burrow (Assistant Manager) Steve Mowat (Assistant Manager) Logan Garforth Hamish Taylor Jamie Mowat Hamish Burrow Brittany Wolf Mikayla Garforth Jessie Clark Grant Results of the event will be available live from the SLSNZ website. |
South Island IRB ChampsThis weekend the annual South Island IRB Championships will be held at Warrington Beach in Dunedin.St Clair have 5 crews entered in the event which they will be using as their major build up for the national event at Waipu Cove at the end of the month. Crews involved this year are: Under 21: Niam Chronican and James Rolfe Rhys McAlevey and Matt Bradley Women: Stephanie and Carla Laughton Senior: Jake Smith and Chris Guild Mark Freeman and Michael Crombie Results are available live from the Surf Lifesaving New Zealand website www.slsnz.org.nz |
