Polar Plunge

June 17, 2007

The Polar Plunge was held in today in what could be described as "crisp" conditions. With the water temperature registering at 10 degrees, over 100 people braved the waters in our 79th annual fundraiser. Crowds packed out the esplanade to watch the swimmers, as well as rescue displays by the lifeguards. A demonstration rescue was done which saw more fm's breakfast dj get picked up and brought back to shore. A great day was had by all and around $2500 was raised to put towards new rescue equipment. Thank you to everyone involved with running the event and also to the public for coming out and getting amongst it!
