Donations for Sumner SLSC
Hi All,
As you many of you may be aware Sumner SLSC in Christchurch has been damaged as a result of the earthquake last week.
The total extent of the damage to the club itself is unclear at this time, however there is significant damage to the community itself and many of their club members are unable to access their homes.
Sumner is our sister club and we have shared a long and close relationship with them, we have contested the Green Bottle since the 1930's and have often helped each other in times of need.
The St Clair Club Committee has been to suggested to lead an appeal for donations to Sumner to ensure that they are able to continue to operate as a club during this difficult time and in the future.
On behalf of the committee I would like to call for any suggestions on ways that we might be able to assist Sumner. Any suggestions at this stage are appreciated and the committee will work through any ideas that come through from the wider membership when they are received.
Already it has been agreed that we will be lending Sumner, IRB equipment this weekend so they are able to contest the South Island IRB Champs at Warrington.
Look forward to hearing from you.
Regards,
James Coombes
