A strong team from St Clair travelled up to the Canterbury Champs held at New Brighton over the weekend of the 23rd and 24th. Unfortunately the conditions dictated that many events were cancelled including the entire programme for sunday. Of the results that were held St Clair achieved several placings.
Most notable of these came in the beach arena where Scott Fraser and Joe Kemp provided further evidence of their prowess with some solid placings. Scott came home with 2 golds and 2 silvers, golds in the U16 Beach Flags and Sprints and silvers in U19 Flags and Sprints. Joe not too be out done cleared the field to win the U19 Sprint and narrowly missed out on the open title. St Clair's other placings came in the Open Mens Board Race where James Coombes was unfortunate to finish 3rd in difficult conditions and Steph Laughton in the Open Womens Run Swim Run.
Millie McCutcheon and Georgia Baker finished just outside the medals in the U16 Womens Sprints and Flags respectively.
