2016 IRB Nationals - 2nd Apr 2016 to 3rd Apr 2016

2016 IRB Nationals

The 2016 Surf Life Saving New Zealand IRB Nationals are being held over the weekend of April 2nd and 3rd at Papamoa Beach in the Bay of Plenty.

This season, St Clair is sending a strong team of 21 which includes six crews equally spread across Under 21, Senior and the Woman's Divisions. The crews are complemented by eight patients and a specialist crewman for the teams race.

An unfortunate injury at Southern IRB Champs means that the new Senior combination of Isaac Davies and James Walters who were expected to perform well in their division is unable to race.

Expectations are high for great performances for this still developoing team who are coming off the back of a successful South Islands where all crews finished in the medals, with four of the six teams racing at Nationals winning a race.

St Clair Life Member and IRB Champion, Antony Mason who is not able to attend the event this year was quoted "There's a lot of excitement about the team this year, many are still relatively new to racing but are showing great potential. I've instructed the team manager to be in constant contact with their results".

  • St Clair White: Matt Bradley and Ossian Woods
