St Clair takes second at IRB Nationals

Well done to the St Clair athletes who attended the 2016 IRB Nationals at Papamoa. Overall St Clair came out in second place and top South Island club, winning the Arancia Cup in the process.

The Under 21 Crew of Arthur Ibbotson and Angus Mackenzie also won the David Hickey Cup for top Under 12 crew.

Throughout the season, the team coached by Issac Davies also won the Otago and South Island Championship titles.

Medals were won by:

Gold

  • Womens Single Rescue: Briar Taylor, Maysha Ahrens and Libby Clifton
  • Under 21 Single Rescue: Arthur Ibbotson, Angus Mackenzie and Anaia Wiparata
  • Under 21 Tube Resuce: Arthur Ibbotson, Angus Mackenzie and James Coombes

Silver

  • Womens Tube Rescue: Mikayla Garforth, Heather Thompson and James Coombes
  • Under 21 Mass Rescue: Arthur Ibbotson, Angus Mackenzie, James Coombes, Lucy Duncan and Anaia Wiparata

Bronze

  • Womens Assembly Rescue: Mikayla Garforth, Heather Thompson and Elle Rolfe
  • Under 21 Mass Rescue: Silas Kemp, Nelson Mears and Ashleigh Hurring
