Rookie Surf Lifeguard Programme - 18th Aug 2015

Rookie Surf Lifeguard Programme

This season St Clair is going to be running a Rookie Surf Lifeguard Programme for club members who will in the next two years be transitioning to the senior area of the club.

The Rookie Surf Lifeguard Program is an introductory program designed to teach and enhance basic lifeguarding skills and provide valuable learning experiences as they proceed with training for their Surf Lifeguard Award.

The programme will be open to any club member who is 13 years of age by 1 October, who is also not eligible to obtain their surf lifeguard award *(see below). Members will also need to be able to swim 200 meters in a pool in under 4 minutes 30 seconds.

View more info on the SLSNZ website.

More information about the programme start date will be made available via the club closer to the start of the season.

*A member is eligible for their surf lifeguard award if they are turning 14 during the current season, although it is recommended that anyone turning 14 after 1 January enrolls for the Rookie programme rather than seeking to obtain their surf lifeguard award.
